The three organizations that appeal to me and would be an area of interest for either volunteer opportunities and/or a job opportunity are Zero to Three, U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, Office of Child Care and, Office of Head Start. I chose these three organizations due to their continuous work in advocating and educating families and communities on the importance of receiving resources that give them a strong support in life.  Zero to Three has numerous initiatives and resources to assist with building healthy relationships with infants and toddlers. The U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS) enhances and protects the health and well-being of all Americans (HHS, 2020). There are several offices that fall under the umbrella of health and human services, the two that interest me are --- The Office of Child Care and The Office of Head Start that assist families with child care and school readiness for children under age 5.

Zero to Three post open positions from across the United States. I would love to work directly with their organization in the policy and advocacy side to advocate for policies that impact children and families.

The U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services did not have any current openings in my direct area, however the work that is done to enhance the lives of children and families through this organization  impacts the lives of children and families daily. I would love to be a part of what they do

The three organizations that appeal to me and would be an area of interest for either volunteer opportunities and/or a job opportunity are National Association Education Young Children (NAEYC), Peppers Ranch Foster Care Community and Feed the Children. I chose all three organizations because of the work each of them do for the care and well-being of children. Pepper’s Ranch and Feed the Children are state (Oklahoma) based organizations that advocate for children to prevent hunger, neglect and abuse.

NAEYC has a “Senior Assessor” position open. I would absolutely love to assess programs. One of my many passions is having an opportunity to give positive feedback or suggestions to make the program better. Working for NAEYC would be an opportunity to promote high-quality early learning programs for children, while gaining experience and knowledge in my chosen field through a different avenue.  The minimum requirements for this position are:  a minimum of a baccalaureate degree, specialized college credits in child development, 5 years professional experience serving children from birth through age 8, understanding the NAEYC Accreditation process and demonstrating observation skills, communication skills and technological skills related to data intake.

Feed the Children did not have any current openings for positions of interest to me. I would like to work hands on in the United States and abroad with local organizations that assist in helping families who are in poverty; working together to end childhood hunger (Feed the Children, 2020).
Peppers Ranch is a long-term residential care providing quality, planned care for abused and neglected boys. Though this organization does not have any current job openings, there is an opportunity to volunteer. The volunteer opportunities are many and the skills are few. It is an excellent way to share talents while meeting the needs of this community. I would love to give my time to an organization that gives back so much love to children in need.
